Show 266 – Things, Places, Ideas

It’s just the boys this week as they ramp up for summertime activities. They discuss the Fort Worth Weekly Music Award Ballot, death, and how numbers affect you and what they mean in this world. They also reveal the results of the Sinead O’Connor tweet contest and give out a bunch of vinyl records. They wrap up the show touching on the big topics of the day and underestimating the value of a hypeman.

Thank you to everyone that called in and participated in this contest, it makes our show a lot more fun when you participate!

Also that evening you can catch them live at J&J’s Pizza on the Square in Denton. As for the rest of the show, it’s a complete demonstration of attention deficit disorder at it’s finest.

Show 264 – ….You’re Dead

David O’hearn is a guitar player and patriot from the Spectacle. He stopped by to promote the upcoming Spectacle show this Friday night at the Abbey Underground in Denton. Thankfully he was here to brighten up a pretty dark show that had Matt questioning if it should even be posted, or just erased from history. Things start out with a discussion about the Santa Fe shooting and what can be done to prevent things like this from happening. From there Matt discloses what happened during his DJ gig at Texas Billiards and Dustin talks about standing in line for NIN tickets. A list about the greatest live bands ever is discussed, before things fall completely off the rail with The Ballad of Jimi Hendrix & The Ballad of Michael Hutchison by SOD. This leads to more Ballads being created on the spot, everything that Shaolin Death Squad is up to, and They. Jason is in studio also and talks about his annual benefit walk, Carry The Load, and how things are going down this weekend.

Show 263 – Oh The Aggravation

Due to contractual disagreements, our guest wasn’t able to join us this evening, so our friend Matt Thomas came by to hang out. We spend some time talking about Mother’s Day and medieval orgies before diving into the Primus and Mastodon shows and the special show Thomas got to see in Austin. The discussion turns to the new smoking bad coming to Fort Worth before falling completely off into political talk and diatribes.  Emails get read and we try and break down what is happening with the #metoo movement, shooting groundhogs, and yelling at cops. The world we are living in right now has gone completely crazy. We try to wrap the show up positively but Spotify sucks the life out of us.

This weekend Matt is spinning records at Texas Billards on Friday night! Go see him and make him put beers on his tab!

Show 262 – A Little Praise & Warships With the Royal Sons

This week our good friends Blake, Javier, and Chad from the band Royal Sons stop by the studio to premiere a few tracks off of their new record Praise & Warships. The show starts off with a few crazy rabbit holes that may or may not have been whiskey induced. We bounce from the Punk in Drublic show to terrible venues, then over to a  fake Journey band before finally settling down with everything going on with the Royal Sons. After a show mid-break, we really dive into their new record, the recording process, and what is on the horizon with the release. We’ve been fans of the Royal Sons for what seems quite a while, and it truly was an honor to be able to debut some tracks off the album. When it’s released, Praise & Warships is going to be a MUST to add to your record collection. This is a long episode, but stick with it, it’s pretty entertaining!

Royal Sons are playing this Thursday night at The Rail Club in Fort Worth. And you can also catch up on all their happenings either on their website or on the facebooks
