Show 352 – Fort Worth Famous Episode 1

Matt and Dustin hit the road this week and head out west for a weekend full of NAMM partying. Instead of putting together a show real quick, the boys thought they’d give the reins to Ivy and Susie and let them debut the pilot episode of their brand new podcast Fort Worth Famous. Each episode the ladies plan on talking about the great city of Fort Worth and the places, people, and things that make it famous. The Fort Worth Weekly Music Awards are always a fantastic night celebrating the bands and their music in the 817 scene. Show 322 – FW Weekly Music Awards Showcase Special Report

It’s that time of year! The time when local music Christmas descends upon Fort Worth and 40 bands perform at 8 different venues across the Southside. This year we dispatched a roving trove of reporters to bring you the inside scoop of Festival Day! Interviews and appearances by Juma Spears, Mandy Hand, Sean Russell, Ansley, Bruce Magnus, Tony Green, Johnny Trashpockets, Kasi Dane, The Funkytown Podcast, Bruce Magnus, The Royal Sons, Mean Motor Scooter, and more! It was another great year full of music that a little bit of weather couldn’t keep us from.

Special thanks to Matt Thomas, our brother in arms, and to Eric Griffey and his entire staff of minions at the Fort Worth Weekly for putting together a day we all look forward to every year!

The Awards Ceremony is July 7th at the Ridglea Theater, where $5 will get you entry to the show and a copy of this year’s compilation album of nominated artists. More info can be found here.

This show is pretty special because our buddy Jessi Foster returns to the Temple with hot off the press copies of the Fort Worth Weekly’s Best of 2018 issue. So naturally we have to go through it and see who won what, but little did we know that we were sitting with the Coolest Female Celebrity in Fort Worth!!! We also do a little talking about the big show that happened at MASS on Saturday, the Cowboy game on Sunday, and the debacle Dustin and Susie found themselves in on Friday night. Show 253 – JJTM Does SXSW 2018 Part 1

Powered by vodka, craft beer, and adderall the boys headed south with their JJTM Austin Branch Producer Jeremie into the heart of South By South West. With a little less then 48 hours to accomplish a grocery list of objectives, the boys began their Thursday evening at the Thrasher Vs Vans Showcase and ended 7 stops later at the Yellow Rose, then got up early on Friday to host two cruises for the New Nashville Riverboat Showcase on Lake Lady Bird in Downtown Austin. This show is an audio hodgepodge of insanity, and isn’t the best of quality at times. This episode also has it’s own drinking game; whenever you hear Matt or Dustin say the word “So” take a shot. You’re guaranteed to wind up with alcohol poisoning before the end of the show!

Thank you to Jamie Kent, Magic Hat Brewery, Shine Your Heart, Uomo Di Pace, Indy Music Sales, and Bose for having us along on this adventure. It was a fantastic day.
