David O’hearn is a guitar player and patriot from the Spectacle. He stopped by to promote the upcoming Spectacle show this Friday night at the Abbey Underground in Denton. Thankfully he was here to brighten up a pretty dark show that had Matt questioning if it should even be posted, or just erased from history. Things start out with a discussion about the Santa Fe shooting and what can be done to prevent things like this from happening. From there Matt discloses what happened during his DJ gig at Texas Billiards and Dustin talks about standing in line for NIN tickets. A list about the greatest live bands ever is discussed, before things fall completely off the rail with The Ballad of Jimi Hendrix & The Ballad of Michael Hutchison by SOD. This leads to more Ballads being created on the spot, everything that Shaolin Death Squad is up to, and They. Jason is in studio also and talks about his annual benefit walk, Carry The Load, and how things are going down this weekend.
When pirates were doing their thing and plundering the Caribbean, they normally did it with the help of a fine spirit called rum; so why should that be any different when our two favorite local pirates, John and Sallie Rody, stop by the Temple? Yes the Kraken was released from it’s bottle and made it’s way down into our bellies as we talked and laughed on this extremely radio intensive episode of the JJTM. It’s not every day you get to hear tales of the high seas and the plundering of booty from a living legend that just also happens to be a member of the Texas Radio Hall of Fame…ok, well maybe you do if you pull up a seat next to John & Sallie at Shipping and Receiving, but I digress. The boys talk with John and Sallie about97.5 KTFW The Southside Pirate, the inception and the future of the station, all things booty box, the days of A&R “gifts”, KZEW The Zoo and the future LaBella and Rody were creating way back when, and of course they all drink more rum.
For the past 3 years Matt and Dustin have been talking about and interviewing musicians and bands from all over North Texas. If you have ever wanted to get a good snapshot of what the music is like in the DFW area and live outside of the reach of The Pirate 97.5fm, then we highly recommend you tune into them on the web and listen to the stream at www.soutsidepirate.com. It’s always up, 24/7, even if a tornado takes the antenna!
Music this episode was from: Huffer – High Hopes and Tied Ropes, Henry The Archer – Why Can’t You Hear Me, and Shaolin Death Squad – Death On Two Legs

This week the boys were tied up and gagged, and left to rot in the basement of the Temple while the girls, Rebekah and Susie, took over the show. Nolan, Zack, and Caleb from the fantastic band The Hendersons paid a visit this week and the girls treated them “kindly”. After a few glasses of whiskey and absinthe the boys return and it becomes a happy fun show full of drunken fun times.

Do you like Heavy/Ambient/Rowdy/Progressive music that happens to be from Denton, Texas? How about the thought of adult breastfeeding? Have you ever wanted to learn about about a band and nugget porn at the same time. Then this is a episode built just for you! This week Orcanaut joined the boys in studio and told crazy tells of house parties, road trips to Denver, and the festival circuit. This is a band that truly hits on everything Matt and Dustin love, and has now become “Certified Grade A Greatness” by the JJTM and has a full seal of approval for guaranteed freshness. The boys also clear the email and voicemail boxes, and receive some pretty impressive photos, before going over one of the most controversial lists that has ever been on the show. It nearly ended the show and made everyone in the Temple reach for a shotgun. Plus Prophets of Rage are dumb, Axl is a fatass, Myrtle Beach is toxic, and Chewbacca Mom needs to go back to her life roaming Kohls.
Go grab Voyager by Orcanaut on Itunes, Google Play, Spotify, or Bandcamp. Also check them out on Facebook and Twitter.
