Show 93 – A Mountain of Smoke

Finally after 2 or 3 reschedules, Mountain of Smoke finally entered into the Temple for a Tuesday night service. The boys discussed the bands relation to Blade Runner, being a two piece, being a teacher, talent shows, a mountain of amps, and a mountain of blow. Doty was also on hand to hang out and poke fun in the studio, while Mike D was once again holding down the Seth chair. The boys also make a call to their buddy Rus who is having a heart operation on Wednesday morning! Our thoughts and prayers are with him and we hope for a speedy recovery. Also the D Magazine article gets a quick mention, and how it flew under the radar and totally surprised the guys. And Dustin attended a Ranger game and had a quick interview with the Green Hill Kid, Trent Williams.

“And your taint, and your taint, and your taint” is all really need to know about this show because it was out of control from the start. Cruella joined Matt, Dustin, and Mike D in studio this week but not before getting tanked and pissing on the lawn! It was greatness. We discuss how women are treated in rock music, pink guitars, our new word “Tunt”, using a tampon for rolling papers, what happens at a Cruella slumber party, chorizo’s being put where they don’t belong, did Martin Short kill someone, and of course the amazing fart piano. It was a wild ride and a complete blast! These girls are fun!

Show 91 – The House Harkonnen Enter The Temple

We’ve been anticipating this show for a little while now, and the boys from House Harkonnen delivered. The boys hit everything from touring, recording with Alex Gerst, Getting iv’s to help with hangovers, the insanity that is Vol 7, dick toots, recording yourself taking a dump, getting kicked out of various establishments in Shreveport, the flute in Emma, the new ep Morphology, and the future of House Harkonnen. These guys are having a kick ass release party for Morphology this Saturday night at Three Links in Deep Ellum. Show 90 – More-Fun With The Me -Thinks

The godfather of space docking, Johnny Trashpockets, stopped by the Temple this week with his partner in crime, Sir Marlin Von Bungy. The conversation jumped from the band Tendril to SXSW to black holes to rape prevention to boobies…of course. Redpants Robotuner was also in studio to drop the joke of the year (whoopsie) and throw his radical opinions around the room. It’s a classic episode of JJTM where we actually hit all of our stapled segments, and offend about half of our audience.

Show 89 – St. Paddy’s Day with New Magnetic North

The Irish suds were flowing as the boys welcome Jacob and Bob from New Magnetic North to the Temple of Eye. Also joining Matt and Dustin this week, filling in the Seth chair, is the one and only Rus from Waking Alice. The boys talk about the weekend at both the Waking Alice show at Tomcats and the Do For It Showcase at Andy’s for 35 Denton. Matt and Dustin also break out their new review system for the brand new House Harkonnen EP entitled Morphology. We learn about the history of New Magnetic North and how their track The Owls Are Not What They Seem wound up in the game Borderlands 2 not only as an in game track, but also in the intro cinematic. We are also joined midway through the show by Matt Redpants Thomas from Redpant’s Insignificant Podcast and the Confounded. And we all end up drunk from a $30 bottle of Guinness.
