In case you didn’t feel like showing up (Ministry reference anyone?) on Wednesday night during their Mixlr feed, Dustin stopped by and hung out with the ADFW guys and gal and had some fun. Check out and enjoy the episode here, and be sure to check out Atypical DFW Podcast every Wednesday night live on mixlr or on iTunes!
“Tonight is the best! We have Dustin Schneider from Jerry Jonestown Massacre and it was epic. We talk beer and really get into the Budwieser commercial. We ask reddit and the music debate rages on. The new Daredevil looks sweet, Magic Mike XXL is a thing, and the slap disturbs us. Next week we do all things 50 shades so stick with us until next week!”
Not one, not two, but all six member of The Raven Charter infiltrated the Temple of Eye this week and things got nerdy and technical. If your a fan of music gear or recording techniques your going to love this show as the boys get down and dirty with the band. It was a great time hanging out and talking shop with the boys, they are a truly amazing and interesting band that is “intense and air-tight unstoppable force upon the stage” (Dustin plays the bio game with the band to wrap up the show). Be on the look out for their new album this spring, and the shows they have lined up celebrating their 10 year anniversary.
This week the boys came to play, and for a third week in a row they work in the word “Jibbers” into the title of the show. Since it’s Super Bowl week, they are joined by a whole broadcasting cast to help get them through the show. Hope you guys enjoy the intros and bits! The boys also finally go through their huge stack of email, and come up with a concept for the next anniversary show. But it’s up to the fans to decide if they do stand up at an open mic night, or throw a roast! Send your votes to jerryjonestownmassacre@gmail.com.
Thanks to Wil Dumke, Matt Redpants Thomas, Brittney Hill, and Richard Hennessey for the awesome voice over work and bits.
The first time Mike and Chris from Redefine came in the studio it got whacky and ended in a bloody mess; This time we can officially thank them for being part of the longest episode of JJTM in history. Mike joins us in the studio and promotes the Redefine show this Friday at the Abbey Underground in Denton, and then he promotes it again, and again, and again… Then Chris joins us on the phone to also promote the show, again and again, and again, and again…
We love these guys because they GET IT and we always have a fantastic time when they stop by. We talk everything from having an accident in your pants to having relations with a mailbox. Mike brought with him a list of the Top 25 Pantera songs according to Guitar World and we go down the list of the best venues in Texas to hit up on a road trip.
Redefine is playing live this Friday at the Abbey Underground with The Spectacle and The Barrio Brawlers. And it’s 100% free!
Consider this your warning and disclaimer before starting this show! Comedian Jefferson Davis joined the boys this week to discuss his involvement with the Lifetime show Big Women, Big Love. And that was the high point, as the show quickly headed down a downward spiral of depravity and lunacy. Apparently there was a memo passed around that stated nothing was off topic, nothing! Enjoy this round with Jefferson Davis, and be on the look out for him on Big Women, Big Love, Wednesday nights on Lifetime and at his website www.jeffersondaviscomedy.com
