Show 123 – Two Tonys and a Peter

12091230_10153635417671678_3458627950049324239_o

The boys were visited by some local greatness this week, Tony Diaz, Peter Thomas, and Tony Edwards. If you have ever done anything in the Fort Worth Music scene, there’s a good chance that Tony Diaz was a part of it some how. And one of the biggest shows of the year, Lolaspalooza VI – Wreck Room Wrevival has his name along with Panther City Exchange written all over it. One of the highlights of Lolaspalooza VI is a band playing Saturday night by the name of Slow Roosevelt, which happens to be fronted by Peter Thomas. If you know anything about Fort Worth music, then you know that Slow Roosevelt was a huge influential band that had some legendary shows that are still talked about to this day. Matt and Dustin get to pick Peters brain about the band, some of these shows, and just what the hell is going on in the world of Slow Roosevelt these days. We can almost promise that Saturday night will be another Slow Roosevelt show that people will be talking about for years. And then there is Tony Edwards, the right hand man at the now defunct One Ton Records. One Ton was THE go to label in North Texas that had an endless roster of amazing bands. This weekend Lola’s will be the place to be to see and hear some of the sounds that made the Fort Worth music, no, the North Texas music scene what it is today. Like Dustin said on the show, “If you’re not there then you’re stupid.”

Towards the end of the show the boys have a good conversation with Peter about mental health and it’s effects and tolls on the scene. 45 Fund is a Deep Ellum Association that promotes mental health awareness for Artists and Musicians.  Founded in 2011, 45 Fund was inspired by the suicides of Frankie Campagna and Adam Carter, both from the Dallas based band Spector 45. We ask that if you listen to anything at all out of this episode, please listen to the last 30 minutes.

If you have any comments or feedback about this show shoot us an email or call our voice mail line at 682-593-5586. We start things off ragging on Watauga and the number of methlabs that are located in city limits, Dustin talks about the Raven Charter Show on Friday night, Matt went to the state fair, sports chaos happened on Sunday, The boys contemplate their annual song, there’s NFLFU, and two new segments; Toby Keith fun facts and Is She A Freak or a Fish? Show 121 – Sounding with the Intoxicated Gamer

depressing-nintendo

Thanks to some marketing genius today is International Podcasting Day! So we hope you are wearing green, eating lots of turkey and stuffing, set out some milk and cookies, and have plenty of eggs painted and ready to hide. Who comes up with this crap?

On a more important note the boys spent the evening with half of The Intoxicated Gamer, Steve and Belvedere, while the other half  stayed home and did their regularly scheduled show. They quickly launched into Arnold talk, followed by blood moons, photographers, Surfside, the Pope, Destiny, next gen consoles and a ton of other video game talk. Then they listen and discuss some of the kinkiest sex acts porn stars have tried before getting completely stumped by Sounding. Then to wrap things up they all try to tune their urethras…to drop D or full C. It’s exactly what you would get out of four guys with extreme ADD sitting around with microphones and drinking a lot of vodka and whiskey

Check out the Intoxicated Gamer here!

Drinks this Episode: Trey Mark Vodka and TX Whiskey.

Show 120 – A Reset With The Raven Charter

12002455_10153686701343395_3542939421473014918_o

The Raven Charter… We love when these guys come in because it is guaranteed to be a good time… They return to the Temple this week to talk about their new album Reset and their upcoming album release shows. Which did happen, then the wheels come flying off as Matt once again attacks companies that use “Christian” in their name. Dustin then talks about his trip to see Garth Brooks, and is asked a new set of questions from Matt in the all new segment NFLFU. Then the question arises should The Raven Charter play Alice In Chains or Alanis Morissette for the Do For It Halloween Parties? Dustin also discloses why no one will probably hear this episode because Sept 23, 2015 is the end of the world as we know it. And will the Pope make it through America? Also we talk about a paper Sosa wrote about the Fort Worth music scene that you can check out here. Plus we got some great voicemails this week, thanks!

There will be a special appendix to this episode later this week!

Go see The Raven Charter the Saturday, Sept 26 at The Curtain Club or Oct 2 at Lola’s as they celebrate the release of Reset. And get a copy of this album, it’s really, really good.

Check out more from them on their Facebook and their website.

Show 119 – There’s a Bigfoot in the Temple

DSC_8250

We all would like to issue an apology in advance, we are all so very sorry for this weeks show. There are a lot of things said that are rude and classless and we would like to think we are above that.

The shining star this week though is that Bigfoot joins the boys in studioto talk about his upcoming benefit car show to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in the name of his son Joshua Kole. The show is Saturday Sept 26th from 2pm-5pm at the Cattle Barn Flea Market located at 8629 Camp Bowie Blvd West. It’s an open car show so anything and everything on wheels is invited to attend. There will also be raffles and prizes!

As for the rest of this weeks episode, we are all very sorry.
