Show 157 – Moon Grave Cooter Dip

FullSizeRender-1

After a long wait Moon Grave made their way into the Temple of Eye, along with a very good friend of the show, Rebekah from I Happy Am. The boys breakdown Moon Graves new album Vance, the fun summer they have ahead of them, and the parallels they draw from Mean Motor Scooter. A record might have been broken with how quick things got shocking and over the top with Matt and Rebekah both relaying a dream in which a black mass tries to strangle them and then sits on their chest. Dustin never made it to Austin but took more pictures of cheerleaders. Dustin also asks if anyone in the room would do nudity to be on Game of Thrones. Cooter Dip makes it’s debut! We have royalty local royalty living among us in North Richland Hills, and finally the boys discuss some of the most expensive tickets in Dallas during this concert season.

Check out Moon Grave on Facebook and Band Camp.

Show 156 – The Spectacle That Is Mike D

DSC_1833

This week our good buddy Mike D paid us a visit and dropped some big news.  He has been asked to play bass again for a certain band…We also discuss Odor, The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, The Cure, Torché, transgender bathrooms, elections, Between the Buried and Me, local metal musicians anthems, and Jessie Fry’s new video for Big Bad Wolf. We delve into the archives of Come on Feel The Metal for this weeks show music. We unsuccessfully attempt a phone call to a certain pitcher, discuss the final days of Rubber Gloves, and thanks to Alex Jones we have now heard the most insane audio ever recorded.

Show 89 – St. Paddy’s Day with New Magnetic North

Photo Mar 18, 8 49 23 AM

The Irish suds were flowing as the boys welcome Jacob and Bob from New Magnetic North to the Temple of Eye. Also joining Matt and Dustin this week, filling in the Seth chair, is the one and only Rus from Waking Alice. The boys talk about the weekend at both the Waking Alice show at Tomcats and the Do For It Showcase at Andy’s for 35 Denton. Matt and Dustin also break out their new review system for the brand new House Harkonnen EP entitled Morphology. We learn about the history of New Magnetic North and how their track The Owls Are Not What They Seem wound up in the game Borderlands 2 not only as an in game track, but also in the intro cinematic. We are also joined midway through the show by Matt Redpants Thomas from Redpant’s Insignificant Podcast and the Confounded. And we all end up drunk from a $30 bottle of Guinness.

Go see New Magnetic North, Vinyl, and Redefine this Friday night at the Boiler Room in Deep Ellum

Redefine’s own Mike D takes over the Seth chair for this episode and makes an announcement that makes Dustin give up the brag badge and pin it directly to Mike D’s chest! It really is one of the best and most amazing stories we have heard on the 88 shows we have done so far, and we wish nothing but the best for Mike D on his future journeys and passport stamp collecting. This is an episode that has to be heard!

Check out Redefine Mar 20th at the Boiler Room in Deep Ellum, and keep up with them here.

Show 87 – Bread Wiping With Vinyl

35dentonbanner2015

The boys from Vinyl stopped by to promote their shows this Saturday at Andy’s in Denton, and on March 20th at the Boiler Room in Dallas. We also discussed their latest self-titled release and its upcoming release on vinyl. The boys are also joined by the great Mike D who breaks down the most offensive band names, and just happen to come across a pretty cool band. Then the topic of bread takes over the show and using it in the most asinine way ever.

Be sure to catch Vinyl this Saturday as part of the Do For It Records showcase at Andy’s in Denton. More information can be found here. The lineup also includes Urizen, Convoy and the Cattlemen, The Spectacle, and the return of International Sparkdome.

Check out more on Vinyl here.
