Show 275 – Jessi Foster Enters the Temple

 

It only took 275 shows but finally, someone from the Fort Worth Weekly has the courage, the bravery, the balls to sit across from the boys on a Tuesday night in the Temple. And that person is the white witch herself, Jessi Foster! We’ve been looking forward to her visit every since she confirmed her booking, and it was a fun night of grand conversation. After a questionable bit to kick off the show, the group dives into witches, Cheddars, Ulrich’s birthday, a couple of special announcements, the state of the FW Weekly, the FW Weekly Music Awards, The Best of 2018, the life of Jessi Foster and serial killers, and of course Sky King. Jessie also sets the bar pretty high by bringing an excellent collection of Mrs. Renfro’s hot sauces, a bunch of FW Weekly swag, and the JJTM 2016 & 2017 Best of Awards. It was a fun evening finally getting to sit down with Jessi, hopefully, the boys didn’t make her too insane.

Show 274 – Leroy The Prophet Enter The Temple

This show has been a long time coming and honestly, we have no idea why it’s taken this long for us to get Leroy The Prophet in the Temple for a little liquor penance. We talk about the history of Leroy The Prophet from the old days of the Wreck Room to this year’s 4th of July with Helmet. We also spend a little time digging through the old box of local CDs and pulling out some old gold. Dustin takes a few minutes to talk about the Alex Jones ordeal and the fear of tech companies reaching outside of their boundaries. The Ridglea Metal Fest is this Saturday and is full of all sorts of heavy bands, including Leroy The Prophet, Drowning Pool, Lockjaw and a ton of other bands. 3 rooms, 3 stages, all day long. Show 273 – 5 Years and The Cruella Sex Sheet

It’s the boys 5 year anniversary and what better way to celebrate than with having the ladies of Cruella swinging by the Temple of Eye for an evening of snacks and champagne. A disclaimer should be made right off the bat, this show is highly visual, so if you have the ability to watch this episode on YouTube it might make a little more sense. Especially when it comes to the introduction of Terry the rubber chicken and his deep throat technique, or Dustin breaking and falling out of his chair, or Sheridan demonstrating the problems with Elevated Anus Syndrome.  Sheridan also brought an entire picnic of the finest tacos and chicken sandwichs that Jack in the Box makes, which leads to a running tally of who can eat the most. The room also delves into the values of Mormon sex clothes and Jewish sex sheets and what is exactly a condiment. And of course, there’s always the fun and interesting world of Cruella. Thank you to everyone for the last 5 years. It’s been a fun run and we appreciate everyone that has ever listened or been a part of the show!

Show 272 – A Really Horrific Tuesday

This week the boys are trying to beat the heat by hanging around Texas Billiards with the horror punk band The Horrifics. After a bit of heat talk and a badass Neurosis and Converge show, the conversation turns to the Horrifics latest release Spirtbox and their entire DIY process. Central Track released a list of the 100 Best Texas Musicians that gets scanned over and bitched about, and we hopefully play the funeral march for the Police Lip Sync challenge.
