Show 171 – I Happy Am

This week marks the return of I Happy Am into the Temple of Eye to promote their long awaited debut album, The Prophet, The Giant, And The Invisible Man. And even though right now the boys and Zach are at war for the Fort Worth Weekly Best of 2016 award, they all put their differences aside for the greater good, and that’s talking about a fantastic album. But that doesn’t keep things from getting a little out of control because Rebekah and Zach show up to the show with a big bottle of rum and Juggalo humor. The spirits get to flowing and topics start flying all over the map; from pink socks to John Rambo busting in and making an appearance it really gets chaotic. And when the smoke clears the boys survive the human torpedo that is Zach and foil his mission of sinking other podcasts.

I Happy Am are having a record drop party on Sept 10th at Butler’s Alley and a full on album release party Oct 21st at Lola’s

Show 160 – The Hendersons Hostile Takeover

This week the boys were tied up and gagged, and left to rot in the basement of the Temple while the girls, Rebekah and Susie, took over the show. Nolan, Zack, and Caleb from the fantastic band The Hendersons paid a visit this week and the girls treated them “kindly”. After a few glasses of whiskey and absinthe the boys return and it becomes a happy fun show full of drunken fun times.

The Hendersons are nominated in this years Fort Worth Weekly Music Awards, and are a great band to see live. This Friday the Hendersons will be playing The Prophet Bar in Dallas with Hightower Band, Reinventing Jude, and touring group The New Schematics. They each break down their top 5 movie soundtracks and then cover a few honor mentions that everyone should be familiar with. Matt discloses the infamous JJTM t-shirt that is currently on Ebay, Dustin has tired head and can’t speak properly, Rus has a fully functional non-bipolar ticker, and Mike continues his bridge burning tour by dropping the F-bomb. They also discuss the attack in Garland, the stupid fight, and The Who.

Show 95 – Off Radar Enters The Temple

We went a little long, but it was worth it! Aaron and William from the Off Radar Podcast join the boys in studio to talk a whole lot of podcast crap. William tells every one about the completely epic journey he is about to embark on, and Aaron lays out his plans for Off Radar while William is gone. Mike D joins the guys again to continue his bridge burning tour, counting down the days till his epic journey. The guys discuss the abrupt retirement of Seth which caused a little bit of confusion, and scratch their heads at the future. The crew also rips on the Podcast Movement coming to Fort Worth, a crazy Scientology article, a chick in Round Rock, Andrew WK has a new show, and the downfall of Bonnaroo, Martin House’s new beer, Beerman, Ska in Denton, and the crazy storms that have rolled through. Plus a new Nirvana tribute album with bands we love.

Show 94 – I Happy Am Now With Theremin!

The cutest and most fantastic couple in all of North Texas joined us on the show this week, Rebekah and Zach, of I Happy Am. They told us how things are going in their camp, the plans they have for 2015, and the addition of a Theremin. Then they blew us all away by performing 3 songs in studio that included Zach shredding it on the Theremin, if in fact you can shred on one of those. AND if that wasn’t enough, Seth graced the show with his presence! Also Mike D is with us continuing his flame throwing-bridge-burning-tour. We talk about the shows we attended on Friday night, and our scores from Record Store Day. We briefly talk about the Star Wars trailer, Matt has a Punch In The Face Of The Week, then we find out how who is the morally worse person in the studio thanks to a list Jessie posted.
