Show 143 – True Widow Enters The Temple

Stoner, showgaze, doom, or whatever you may call it, True Widow is a Dallas band that was doing it long before anyone else around here as doing it. With three albums released and another freshly recorded and being prepared for a summer release, True Widow stopped by the Temple and paid the boys a visit. This has been a band that Dustin has been wanting to get on for awhile now, but somewhere along the way things get a little strange. No one is sure what quite happened on this episode, this might be one that top audio scientist will be studying for years… or probably not.

The boys were invited to the Dallas Comic Con Fan Days 2016 and met a slew of celebrities and costumed individuals. It was awkward, at times intense, and at others a complete waste of time JJTM style. We had a lot of fun and want to thank Dallas Comic Con for having us out. Show 141 – The Angry Episode

If you are a fan of shouting, yelling, and destruction then your going to enjoy this episode. Out of either miscommunication or just plain assholiness the band that was thought to be scheduled no shows, which sends Dustin on a downward spiral of anger and opens up the invitation for Matt to prod him. Luckily their buddies Richard and Jessie are there to provide some laughs. Richard becomes the official JJTM man on the street with his interview with Jessie Frye and Jim Hightower at the Bernie Sanders Rally in Denton. He’s not afraid to throw fastballs at the person he’s interviewing, and this was some hard hitting interviews. The boys tease their time at Comic Con,  and Jessie gets grilled over his up coming nuptials. Plus there is news about a new band being formed as you are reading this!

Show 128 – The Ballad of Nien Nunb

After a weekend of tragedy and chaos, the boys try to bring some levity to the this weeks episode after briefly touching on the events that happened in Paris. Tornados fell from the sky over the Temple of Eye, Dustin receives a badass coffee table book from the photographer Peter Dench, Zoo Magazine decides to close up shop, Fallout 4 causes Pornhub to take a drastic drop in traffic, Charlie Sheen has HIV and the boy go through the list of chicks he’s been through, Ween reunites, Don Vito dies, and foreplay leads to death. And what is wrong with Pam Oliver and screw Jerry Jones!

Show 127 – A Daisy Chain For Sosa

The great Anthony Sosa from the Ravin Charter and The Foo join the boys in studio this week to drink some space beer. The show starts out with them cracking open a bottle of Ninkasi’s Ground Control which had it’s yeast shot into space before brewing. Then they delve into the weekends activities, which included the 2016 Dallas Cowboy’s Cheerleader Calendar Release Party, The Fort Worth Rock Assembly 4, and Matt being a drunken mess…again. Sosa talks about his television watching habits, Matt talks about butt teeth (?), and they all spout their opinions about the Starbuck’s Red Cup controversy. Finally Dustin talks about about a My Life With a Thrill Kill Kult song that has a number of samples that have been haunting him for years and how he finally found the source of said samples.
