Show 503 – The 2023 FWWMA Wrap-Up

Well, the Fort Worth Weekly Music Awards have now come and gone, and this week we call upon our friends Jeffery Lord and Matt Thomas to do a full wrap-up of what happened on Sunday night. If you want to hear the play-by-play coverage you can tune into the Funky Town Podcast and hear all the goings on from the award show. Stubbs is out this week, fighting off his 2nd round of the old ‘vid so it’s up to Dustin to keep Jeff and Matt in line as they tackle a bunch of things that are happening in our fair burg. That’s a pretty vague statement, but of well, deal with it.

The opening track this week is I Don’t Care by Novakain

Show 502 – Tis The Season

Executive Producer of Show 502 – Jeremie Perez

It’s been a fun week. It seems we’ve pissed off many people at our beloved Fort Worth Weekly, especially Dustin for sharing his thoughts and opinions on our buddy Jeff’s Funkytown Podcast. After a short discussion about that, we then Chat about the Cowboys, World Cup, Kirstie Alley, Holiday bonuses and parties, and the greatness of having housekeepers. Pantera played their first show in 21 years and there are some hot opinions on that, as well as Elon and his exploits right now.

Show 501 – World (Cup) Madness

Surprise, the 501-week streak is still alive! Dustin was sick on Tuesday so we pushed the show to Thursday, and boy is this one a dandy! The boys are fired up and have their buddy Dante in the studio to talk all things World Cup, and to get down to the nitty-gritty and have the questions answered that nobody is asking! It’s a fun show that of course bounces all over the place. Check out Dante and his co-host Adam on their show, Old Guys in a Garage, every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Show 500 – We Made It!

Producer of this week’s show: Jeremie Perez

Here we are, 500 shows over 500 continuous weeks. No big celebration, fireworks, hookers… nope none of that. All we need is a couple of good friends and a giant bottle of eggnog, the rest is magic. But to be honest, with this week being Thanksgiving, it’s a weird week to throw a giant celebration for our 500th show. Most people would rather spend time with their family than see our dumb faces, so for now, we’ll leave it at this. Our friends Susie and Matt came and hung out, with Matt bringing along a gigantic bottle of eggnog. It didn’t take long for it to take its effects, and audio gold was captured!

Thank you to everyone that has listened to us and been a part of the show for 500 episodes. Who knows how much longer we will be doing this, but we appreciate everything you guys have done!

Show 499 – This Might Be The End

Well in case we don’t make it to next Tuesday, it’s been a fun run of 499 shows for 499 continuous weeks. We hope everyone is well prepared for the change our planet is about to go through, but if not, at least you have this episode to help you forget about everything. We welcome into to the studio this week Jose Serrato, who you’ve probably seen around town photographing both local and national bands as they roll through. Jose just took a badass trip to San Diego to shoot one of his favorite bands, the Deftones at their annual Dia de los Deftones festival. We get into concert photography, some of our favorite festivals, and some of the old-school local shows we enjoyed. Speaking of old local shows, Dustin saw The Toadies, Doosu, and Mike Graff at HOB over the weekend, Matt had a bunch of suit trouble, and they both attended a fantastic wedding.
