Show 254 – JJTM Does SXSW 2018 Part 2

We get it, you like to listen to podcasts and have asked us to do a little more here and there. So, Matt and Dustin head out to the Between The Buried and Me show in Dallas and wrap up their SXSW trip with an extended look into Day 2 and the New Nashville Riverboat Showcases. Plus there’s some interesting podding from the Yellow Rose in Austin.

We will be live in the studio next week with Jake Dexter in studio.

Show 253 – JJTM Does SXSW 2018 Part 1

Powered by vodka, craft beer, and adderall the boys headed south with their JJTM Austin Branch Producer Jeremie into the heart of South By South West. With a little less then 48 hours to accomplish a grocery list of objectives, the boys began their Thursday evening at the Thrasher Vs Vans Showcase and ended 7 stops later at the Yellow Rose, then got up early on Friday to host two cruises for the New Nashville Riverboat Showcase on Lake Lady Bird in Downtown Austin. This show is an audio hodgepodge of insanity, and isn’t the best of quality at times. This episode also has it’s own drinking game; whenever you hear Matt or Dustin say the word “So” take a shot. You’re guaranteed to wind up with alcohol poisoning before the end of the show!

Thank you to Jamie Kent, Magic Hat Brewery, Shine Your Heart, Uomo Di Pace, Indy Music Sales, and Bose for having us along on this adventure. It was a fantastic day.

Part Two will be up in the next couple of days!

Show 252 – John Pedigo and Chad Stockslager

John Pedigo and Chad Stockslager made the pilgrimage from Dallas to the Temple of Eye this week to sit down with the boys and talk about their latest release Pedigo’s Magic Pilsner. John began writing the album as a homage to his father after who used the family’s kitchen sink to create an undrinkable beer called Pedigo’s Magic Pilsner. The name carried over to his father’s bowling team where it saw a bit more success then it did as the title for a beverage, but now the name lives on in glory as both a band and this self-titled debut. The conversation revolves around the history between John and Chad, their background in other bands, the creation of this album, and the ideas and concepts behind a few of the songs. Dustin makes the bold claim that this is his favorite album of the year and contains one of the best songs he’s heard in a really long time. So the bar is set for 2018!

The Pilsner’s have plenty of shows coming up and can be found here. The album Pedigo’s Magic Pilsner can be purchased on Itunes and Amazon.

The album can also be listened to and purchased on Soundcloud.

This weekend the boys will be at SXSW for the New Nashville Riverboat Showcase details can be found here:

Show 251 – Going Inward With Joe Savage

When we started this podcast the goal was always to mirror the conversations we would have on a random evening at the bar. Never did we have the idea to do a generic interview show where we ask a guest a set of prewritten questions. There are a million other podcasts out there that do just that. Joe Savage is the perfect guest to have a typical “bar conversation” with, and that’s exactly what the episode is, four dudes at the bar talking over drinks. Joe starts the show off with a live version of a brand new song called, “Elephant in the Room” which immediately leads us into adult life, STDs, the old days of scrambled porn, and hiding your stash in the woods. It’s a bit of a gut test when we look up the oddest things that arouse people. Eventually things calm down as we get into everything Joe has been up to since his last visit, his journey through the world of public education, the down fall of society, and why we all should “Curb Our Enthusiasm”. Dustin introduces us to a questionnaire that was passed around his son’s middle school to the 6th grade class. Peace out I Heart Radio.

Joe’s latest release So Low is available here. And you can follow and find out more about Joe on his website or facebook.

Show 250 – Hmm, With Jessie Frye

Well, we made it to 250 shows. That’s 250 weeks of total podcast mediocrity, and that’s at least 220 more then we thought we would ever do. So to celebrate out 250th show we have an extremely tired Jessie Frye swing by the Temple to doze off in the middle of the show. She is currently celebrating the release of her new single, Why So Serious, and is gearing up for a Tour starting this Friday in Albuquerque, New Mexico. WE talk with her about all she currently has in the fire, #metoo movement, stalkers, sex clubs, and the genetic attributes between men and women. Matt introduces us to MCT and Dustin gets aggrovated by stupid people. This show is a little rough and odd at times, pretty fitting for a milestone episode.
