Surprise, it’s a super special edition of JJTM! This past weekend Susie and Dustin spent three days on the grounds of AT&T Stadium for the first Kaaboo Fesival and this is an audio record of their experience. Find out who Dustin thinks is a real man and who Susie is a closet fan of. Despite what other local outlets might have reported, Dustin and Susie had a good time and are excited to see what Kaaboo brings to North Texas next year.
It’s just the boys and crew in the studio this week as it’s their contractually obligated week without a guest, and that’s fine because there is more than enough to talk about. Dustin goes on WBAP after Kaaboo Texas, Matt tosses logs at the Scottish Festival, Jessie watches local futbol and becomes a bouncer. There are also stories about panties, acid, space cremation, and ballot nominations. You know, a normal show.
Sports and more sports is just how the show worked out this week. Brian and Nick from the Panther City Hellfire stopped by to chat about the Fort Worth Vaqueros Futbol Club, But the Dallas Stars decided to have a game 7 on the same night. So all of us are distracted as we have the game on during the show. The most important thing to know though is that the Vaqueros start this season at 7pm this Saturday night at Farrington Field.
Also, this weekend is KAABOO Texas festival in AT&T Stadium in Arlington. The entire show isn’t able to make it out there this weekend, but there will be some audio recorded and reviews made on how this gigantic festival ends up going down. Tickets are still available for all three days, so if end up going out, keep an eye out for us.
The power is back this week, but there were still storms and tornados dropping from the skies across North Texas. Just remember what the bravest podcast is that continues to do their show no matter what is thrown their way…That’s right, the Jerry Jonestown Massacre. We do this no matter the danger just for you! Joining us in the studio this week is longtime friend and Dustin’s former bandmate Rock Cortez. He now fronts his band Other Oddities made up of his son Ray on drums, Kevin on bass, and Clay on guitar. They have a show this Friday night at Gas Monkey Bar with the crazy ass Metalachi. We find out what Other Oddities are up to and take a short trip down memory lane. The crew also discusses music festivals with a wrap up of Fortress Fest and a preview of ACL and KaaBoo. Matt died and came back to life Friday night, Jessi craves cheeseburgers, and Dustin questions if he pulled a gun on someone.
A show that has been a year and a half in the making and a stupid Texas Springtime Storm completely kills it. Kids, this is why you don’t mock Pete Delkus! Sean Russell and Eric Webb from the great Cut Throat Finches swing by the Temple this week, and bring along future Fort Worth mayor, Mr. Tony Diaz! It’s a great night of music as Sean and Eric play a couple of unheard and unrecorded tracks for us as well as Blushing off their last record Polite Conversation. Since the world seems to know that we are all space nerds, Sean and Eric surprise us with a track called Outro off their upcoming album. The track features one Danny Balis as he narrates the In Event of Moon Disaster Speech that was written in case the astronauts aboard Apollo 11 didn’t make it back from the moon. It’s creepy and unique and puts space travel into a more realistic perspective. Tony was stopping by to talk about this year’s Rock Assembly and a few other things PCX has up their sleeves but the storm hit and sent the entire show into a blackout. So we will be having Tony back in shortly so he can get all his events and mission statements out there!
