Show 322 – FW Weekly Music Awards Showcase Special Report

It’s that time of year! The time when local music Christmas descends upon Fort Worth and 40 bands perform at 8 different venues across the Southside. This year we dispatched a roving trove of reporters to bring you the inside scoop of Festival Day! Interviews and appearances by Juma Spears, Mandy Hand, Sean Russell, Ansley, Bruce Magnus, Tony Green, Johnny Trashpockets, Kasi Dane, The Funkytown Podcast, Bruce Magnus, The Royal Sons, Mean Motor Scooter, and more! It was another great year full of music that a little bit of weather couldn’t keep us from.

Special thanks to Matt Thomas, our brother in arms, and to Eric Griffey and his entire staff of minions at the Fort Worth Weekly for putting together a day we all look forward to every year!

The Awards Ceremony is July 7th at the Ridglea Theater, where $5 will get you entry to the show and a copy of this year’s compilation album of nominated artists. More info can be found here.

Show 321 – It’s Ladies Night

It’s a documented fact that every time Sheridan makes a visit to the Temple the show is ridiculously crazy and turns into some of the funniest shows we’ve ever done. Well, this week is no exception as she brings along Courtney and Lulu to push things into the red. It gets crazy 20 secs in and none of us let off the pedal until it’s over. Boundaries were pushed but, it was a wonderful evening with these ladies.

Show 273 – 5 Years and The Cruella Sex Sheet

It’s the boys 5 year anniversary and what better way to celebrate than with having the ladies of Cruella swinging by the Temple of Eye for an evening of snacks and champagne. A disclaimer should be made right off the bat, this show is highly visual, so if you have the ability to watch this episode on YouTube it might make a little more sense. Especially when it comes to the introduction of Terry the rubber chicken and his deep throat technique, or Dustin breaking and falling out of his chair, or Sheridan demonstrating the problems with Elevated Anus Syndrome. Sheridan also brought an entire picnic of the finest tacos and chicken sandwichs that Jack in the Box makes, which leads to a running tally of who can eat the most. The room also delves into the values of Mormon sex clothes and Jewish sex sheets and what is exactly a condiment. And of course, there’s always the fun and interesting world of Cruella. Thank you to everyone for the last 5 years. It’s been a fun run and we appreciate everyone that has ever listened or been a part of the show!

This week the boys travel down the endless rabbit hole of movie soundtracks with Mike D and Rus Chaney. They each break down their top 5 movie soundtracks and then cover a few honor mentions that everyone should be familiar with. Matt discloses the infamous JJTM t-shirt that is currently on Ebay, Dustin has tired head and can’t speak properly, Rus has a fully functional non-bipolar ticker, and Mike continues his bridge burning tour by dropping the F-bomb. They also discuss the attack in Garland, the stupid fight, and The Who.

Show 95 – Off Radar Enters The Temple

We went a little long, but it was worth it! Aaron and William from the Off Radar Podcast join the boys in studio to talk a whole lot of podcast crap. William tells every one about the completely epic journey he is about to embark on, and Aaron lays out his plans for Off Radar while William is gone. Mike D joins the guys again to continue his bridge burning tour, counting down the days till his epic journey. The guys discuss the abrupt retirement of Seth which caused a little bit of confusion, and scratch their heads at the future. The crew also rips on the Podcast Movement coming to Fort Worth, a crazy Scientology article, a chick in Round Rock, Andrew WK has a new show, and the downfall of Bonnaroo, Martin House’s new beer, Beerman, Ska in Denton, and the crazy storms that have rolled through.
