Show 222 – The Ned Files Part 1

IMG_9911Like when Scooby and the gang teamed up with the Harlem Globe Trotters, this has been a show in the making for years. Or imagine having a pen pal for years and finally traveling across the country to see them, and not only spend an afternoon and evening with them, but also see them perform in a band, at a venue, in a place you have never been! Two powerful forces collide in a Mexican restaurant in Garden Grove, California, The Ned Files and JJTM. Cherub, Becky, and Number 2 are reunited to sit down with Dustin as he took a little vacation to sunny So Cal. It was so much fun, and there was so much gold, that two shows were recorded. This first episode covers a lot; from Eric’s (Cherub) bands, Number 2’s movie career, Becky’s love for Morrissey, observations about So Cal, Warped Tour, Battle of the Bands, and of course drinking. So sit back and plug your earholes with a little bit of history and listen as Dustin was as giddy as a school girl sitting at the table with a reunited Ned Files. Closing out the episode is the track Awake by Eric’s band, The Sovereign Artist. Seriously go check them out!

Show 220 – The 4th Anniversary Part 1

JJTM!-Edit-Edit

Some how, some way, we’ve made it to the 4 year mark and it’s been one hell of a ride. New friendships have formed, and friendships have been lost; Bands have been formed and bands have broken up; Beer and whiskey were produced, and a lot of it was consumed; It’s been a wild and whacky 4 years. THANK YOU to everyone that has listened to and enjoyed this silly little show. We appreciate all of you.

This week James Jennings (Do For It Records, Hoof, The Spectacle) and Nick Russo (NRCD, Duell, The Intoxicated Gamer) joined us to help celebrate 4 years at none other then Texas Billiards. And it wouldn’t be a proper celebration if the show didn’t get rowdy and out of control. It got so crazy that it had to be divided into two parts. We talk to James about Hoof and The Spectacle, about whats going on in the world of Do For It, and we judge some submissions that have been sent to the Do For It in box. We talk with Nick about things going on in his life, the world of Duell, and Rent Seeker. We also touch upon the death of Chester Bennington, Houston, Manchester United and Manchester City and Lucky Whitehead. This is just the first part of an explosive two part series celebrating 4 years of mediocrity.

Show 218 – Jessie vs The FWWMA17

DSC_7770

The Boys are back in the studio this week and joined by Shelly (Ashley?) and Matt from Robotuner’s Insignificant Podcast. Dustin’s internet is down due to some illegal contractors cutting the fiber optic cable with a trencher before making a run for the border. Ridiculous. It’s also collusion day, and Matt has some hot political opinions to spout off. Dustin took a small tour across Texas with Jessie Frye and discloses all the dirt and gossip from that trip. But this week was the Fort Worth Weekly Music Awards and the meat of the show revolves around that and the friends that won awards. The boys also touch on he HBO documentary The Defiant Ones, and we all find out where Robotuner likes and dislikes being poked with a finger. Plus a huge teaser for the return of Robotuner’s Insignificant Podcast!
