After catching up spending a little bit of time catching up with Matt since he was absent last week, and talking about the topics that were too taboo for last weeks guests, the boys continue their award winning series on the history of metal. This time around they tackle the sub genres of glam and thrash, both their origins and their demise.
Some old friends stopped by to talk about their upcoming show at Fortress Fest. We get the low down on how everything is going in the world of Henry The Archer, and how they are looking forward to rocking out the Fortress Fest crowd. Tickets for both general admission and VIP are still available for both days and can be purchased here.
This week is an on the road two parter and an experiment in audio. First up The boys head to the Dallas Fan Expo 2018 to meet a whole list of celebrities, but they might have been sold a bad bill of goods. Next they head back out to Dallas for the final Dallas Mavericks’ home game of the year, and drunken rowdiness then ensues. Each segment of the show is an recorded a different way on the zoom field recorder. At Fan Expo the ball mic is used and on the drive home the x/y cap mic is used. Then for the trip to and from the Mav’s game the dedicated mic inputs are used. Since we spent some time at the ultimate nerd fest this weekend, we figured we’d nerd out with our gear. Intro/segue/ending music this episode is by Betray The Dreamer and the track Don’t Turn Away
Not one, not two, but all six member of The Raven Charter infiltrated the Temple of Eye this week and things got nerdy and technical. If your a fan of music gear or recording techniques your going to love this show as the boys get down and dirty with the band. It was a great time hanging out and talking shop with the boys, they are a truly amazing and interesting band that is “intense and air-tight unstoppable force upon the stage” (Dustin plays the bio game with the band to wrap up the show). Be on the look out for their new album this spring, and the shows they have lined up celebrating their 10 year anniversary.
This week the boys came to play, and for a third week in a row they work in the word “Jibbers” into the title of the show. Since it’s Super Bowl week, they are joined by a whole broadcasting cast to help get them through the show. Hope you guys enjoy the intros and bits! The boys also finally go through their huge stack of email, and come up with a concept for the next anniversary show. But it’s up to the fans to decide if they do stand up at an open mic night, or throw a roast! Send your votes to jerryjonestownmassacre@gmail.com.
Thanks to Wil Dumke, Matt Redpants Thomas, Brittney Hill, and Richard Hennessey for the awesome voice over work and bits.
