Show 311 – Cut Throat Power Outage

A show that has been a year and a half in the making and a stupid Texas Springtime Storm completely kills it. Kids, this is why you don’t mock Pete Delkus! Sean Russell and Eric Webb from the great Cut Throat Finches swing by the Temple this week, and bring along future Fort Worth mayor, Mr. Tony Diaz! It’s a great night of music as Sean and Eric play a couple of unheard and unrecorded tracks for us as well as Blushing off their last record Polite Conversation. Since the world seems to know that we are all space nerds, Sean and Eric surprise us with a track called Outro off their upcoming album. The track features one Danny Balis as he narrates the In Event of Moon Disaster Speech that was written in case the astronauts aboard Apollo 11 didn’t make it back from the moon. It’s creepy and unique and puts space travel into a more realistic perspective. Tony was stopping by to talk about this year’s Rock Assembly and a few other things PCX has up their sleeves but the storm hit and sent the entire show into a blackout. So we will be having Tony back in shortly so he can get all his events and mission statements out there!

Show 250 – Hmm, With Jessie Frye

Well, we made it to 250 shows. That’s 250 weeks of total podcast mediocrity, and that’s at least 220 more then we thought we would ever do. So to celebrate out 250th show we have an extremely tired Jessie Frye swing by the Temple to doze off in the middle of the show. She is currently celebrating the release of her new single, Why So Serious, and is gearing up for a Tour starting this Friday in Albuquerque, New Mexico. WE talk with her about all she currently has in the fire, #metoo movement, stalkers, sex clubs, and the genetic attributes between men and women. Matt introduces us to MCT and Dustin gets aggrovated by stupid people. This show is a little rough and odd at times, pretty fitting for a milestone episode.

You can catch Jessie Frye at at these dates:

3/3 Love Buzz El Paso, TX
3/4 The Lost Leaf Phoenix, AZ

Show 223 – The Ned Files Part 2

DSC_9497You were warned almost a week ahead of time, here is the conclusion of the EPIC meet up with the Ned Files gang. We’ve been drinking, been in the sun, and did I mention that we had been drinking? Things start to get a little whacky as we get towards the end of the show, but doesn’t that seem to be the norm? Thank you to Becky, Danny, and Eric for meeting up and making this all happen. It was a great time finally meeting you guys, and spending an evening hanging out! I hope we get together again soon!

Show 222 – The Ned Files Part 1

IMG_9911Like when Scooby and the gang teamed up with the Harlem Globe Trotters, this has been a show in the making for years. Or imagine having a pen pal for years and finally traveling across the country to see them, and not only spend an afternoon and evening with them, but also see them perform in a band, at a venue, in a place you have never been! Two powerful forces collide in a Mexican restaurant in Garden Grove, California, The Ned Files and JJTM. Cherub, Becky, and Number 2 are reunited to sit down with Dustin as he took a little vacation to sunny So Cal. It was so much fun, and there was so much gold, that two shows were recorded. This first episode covers a lot; from Eric’s (Cherub) bands, Number 2’s movie career, Becky’s love for Morrissey, observations about So Cal, Warped Tour, Battle of the Bands, and of course drinking. So sit back and plug your earholes with a little bit of history and listen as Dustin was as giddy as a school girl sitting at the table with a reunited Ned Files. Closing out the episode is the track Awake by Eric’s band, The Sovereign Artist. Seriously go check them out!
