It’s 4th of July eve as the gentlemen from Mountain of Smoke make a visit to the Temple to talk about their new release Gods of Biomechanics. It’s been a little while since Brooks and PJ have been by we spend quite a bit of time catching up on what they’ve been up to, the addition of Alex to the band, and recording with Michael Briggs up at Civil Audio. In true Mountain of Smoke fashion, Gods of Biomechanics is a brilliant 10 track punishing assault through the Blade Runner landscape. The new addition of Alex playing pedal steel on the tracks brings a sense of balance to PJ’s thundering rhythm and Brook’s low end. It’s our feel-good album of the summer!
So buckle up, this is the longest episode that we’ve done to date and it’s one of our favorites.
Album release parties begin this weekend, July 7th at the Lost Well in Austin, July 14th at the Double Wide in Dallas, July 19th at Dan’s Silver Leaf in Denton, and July 26th at the Ridglea Room in Fort Worth.
The opening track is Orion’s Shoulder, closing track is Tyrell.
